CULTISENSOR

CULTISENSOR

The CULTISENSOR project has as its main objective the design, manufacture and validation of a soil work implementation prototype, fully sensorized and that allows the mapping and interpretation of the physical conditions of the soil at the same time as the activities are carried out of work in the countryside. This prototype will have a data capture platform that will centralize the information collected in the field and allow the traceability of operations to be organized.

The goal is to digitize a subsoiler. This digitization will allow the electronic control of the tools. It is also intended to achieve the mapping of soil compaction through an indirect measurement. Through the installation of a pressure sensor, the oil pressure variation of the hydraulic pistons of the subsolador must be monitored. This oil pressure variation will be monitored by taking second-by-second geolocated records, which will indirectly give us a map of relative ground compaction

The project is led by the FEMAC Cluster with the collaboration of the Clúster INNOVIand in which the companies of the FEMAC cluster, , The WAATIC Company, sl , JYMPA FUTURAGRO, SL , AKIS INTERNATIONAL, SL , participate as developers of the technological solution , the EUDALD MASSANA winery, as a fine user and the CIT UP technology center

Project information

How will we achieve it?

In order for the measurements to be comparable, a common zero point must be established.

To achieve this common zero point, Waatic will develop in the user interface and PCB firmware, a system to achieve this automatic zero with electronic control. This zero point will affect the sensitivity of the system. The zero point is an oil pressure value. The user or technician will determine the initial working pressure value (common to all subsolation tasks) The system acting on the oil inlet and outlet valves will allow oil to enter until the desired initial pressure is reached . From this moment the system will close the valves leaving a closed circuit. From this moment, the compression of the subsolador pistons will increase the pressure of this closed circuit. A greater ground resistance to the advance of the subsoiler will translate into greater compression and therefore a higher value of the closed circuit pressure. The geolocated record of these pressure variations will form a soil compaction map of the worked plots.

With this sensorization, we achieve the registration of the action. However, the project also aims to act on the subsoiler.

A sensor will be installed that, through the use of ultrasound, will measure the working height of the subsoiler. At the initial point and through the corresponding button on the tablet that will perform the user interface functions, the operator will determine the zero point in this case corresponding to the working depth.

The user will be able to determine the desired working depth by indicating the value in centimeters on the screen of the table that performs the user interface functions. This depth established on the screen will be transferred wirelessly to the electronic box located in the subsoiler which will send signals to the corresponding valves to actuate the pistons of the subsoiler roller until the desired working depth is achieved.

The system will monitor not only the pressure of each point of the plot, but also the working depth, since it is presumed that the system, faced with a high resistance, will be forced to rise from the ground. The registration of these data will allow the creation of models to know the edaphic characteristics of the farm.

The CULTISENSOR Project is a bet by the companies and the Cluster for innovation, the development of solutions in the machinery sector and the means of agricultural production, towards a greener and more digital agriculture, and is perfectly aligned with the objectives of the Mechanism of Recovery and Resilience, the green and digital transitions, which promotes the Recovery Plan, in which the order of bases that regulates this line of aid is circumscribed
