Descripcion trad The BETA Technology Centre of the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia was founded in 2014, with the aim of making a leap forward in research on the environment and sustainability. It is currently an internationally recognised centre for the transfer of knowledge to companies and for the participation and coordination of competitive European projects. The centre actively participates in numerous clusters, associations and sectoral working groups at a local, national and international level, and is a member of the TECNIO Centres Network of Catalonia. The mission of the BETA Technology Centre is to put research and innovation at the service of rural areas, to help them become more sustainable, competitive and in a better balance with the urban world. It works to be a useful actor in various economic sectors, especially the agri-food sector, but also for public administration, academia and civil society, with the idea of jointly advancing in improving the quality of life in rural areas.
