As 2025 begins, we look back to celebrate a 2024 filled with success, collaboration, and growth for the FEMAC cluster and the Catalan agri-food sector. Thanks to the efforts of all cluster members, we have reached milestones that reinforce our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness.
This year has been marked by our involvement in major European projects, such as the I3-4-BIOFERTILIZERS Project, an initiative connecting us with 8 countries and 13 regions across the EU to promote sustainable solutions in circular bioeconomy. Together with DESARROLLOS AGROQUÍMICOS and the University of Vic, we will work to develop innovative biofertilizers and promote agricultural sustainability.
We have also witnessed the consolidation of our cluster ecosystem with the addition of new members and ambitious projects, such as the merger of 6-8 agricultural machinery companies. This strategic alliance, still in progress, has laid the groundwork for entering the French market and strengthening collaboration within the sector.
Another highlight of 2024 was the first season of AgroPodcast, where, through 11 episodes and 13 interviews, we explored inspiring stories and key topics such as innovation, female leadership, and sustainability. This project, available on YouTube and Spotify, has become a valuable platform for the agri-food sector.
The success of the Demo Day for the Emprèn Agro Cat program was another milestone, with 15 entrepreneurial projects competing for awards in a "Pitch Competition" recognizing innovation and market potential. We are already preparing the second edition of this program to further boost agri-food entrepreneurship.
In terms of global presence, we participated in 4 national fairs, 2 international events, and led a strategic mission to Peru in collaboration with ACCIÓ, exploring new market opportunities and strategic connections.
Training has also been central to our activities. Our course platform continues to grow, culminating in another successful edition of the online precision agriculture course, with a new edition scheduled for February. Additionally, the third women’s conference, themed "Empowering the Present", highlighted female leadership and strengthened the cluster’s commitment to equality.
Finally, we strengthened our partnership with AgroBank, collaborating on projects such as Emprèn Agro Cat, the Facilitea program, and the conference "Catalonia’s Food Industry in a Global World", where our director Enric Pedrós participated as a panelist in this year’s edition.
This 2024 has been a year full of achievements that have brought us one step closer to the future of the agri-food sector. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this success. Now, with enthusiasm and optimism, we face the challenges of 2025 to continue building a stronger and more sustainable sector together.
